We remove the old cooker hood and install the new one – level, at the right distance from the hob and with a neatly connected duct or fitted recirculation filters. Good to know
- If there is a wood-burning stove or a gas boiler that draws air from the room, an extraction hood usually needs a safety device (e.g. a window contact switch). If in doubt, ask your chimney sweep – a recirculation hood is often the simpler solution.
- If there’s no extraction duct to the outside yet, a recirculation hood is usually the simplest solution.
- The hood needs a socket nearby. If there isn’t one, a licensed electrician will install it.
- We agree the price with you beforehand – after that it’s fixed. The minimum order is €50.

How much does cooker hood installation cost?
It depends on the type of hood (chimney, integrated or slimline), whether an old hood has to be removed, and whether it’s connected to an extraction duct or runs on recirculation. Send us the model and a photo of the kitchen, ideally via WhatsApp – you get a fixed price up front, and it stays fixed. The minimum order is €50; other kitchen jobs can easily be done in the same visit.
Extraction or recirculation – which is better?
Extraction carries steam and smells outside and is usually a little more effective. Recirculation cleans the air through filters and returns it to the kitchen – good if there’s no duct or there’s a wood-burning stove in the flat. We’re happy to advise.
Do I have to buy the hood myself?
Usually you buy the appliance yourself – that gives you free choice of brand and price. We’re happy to tell you beforehand what to look out for, such as width and connection type.
How often do the filters need changing?
That’s in your hood’s manual. Grease filters can usually be cleaned in the dishwasher; carbon filters for recirculation are replaced after a while. We’ll show you how when we install it.
